Earith Primary School has been celebrating the official opening of its brand-new ICT suite with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, to mark the occasion.
The newly unveiled ICT area features 16 pupil desktop computers and 32 pupil laptops, providing state-of-the-art technology for learning. The space has been completely transformed with new carpeting, fresh paint, and modern furnishings including new desks, swivel chairs, and a laptop trolley. A special assembly at the school, which is part of 大奶视频, was held to introduce pupils to the new facility and how it will be used to support their learning, followed by an in-depth training session for pupils to get to grips with the new hardware.
The project was led by Mick Crossley, Head of Estates at 大奶视频 Learning Trust, with support from Mrs Wardell, from the school among others. Preparations were made over the summer holidays, which included the removal of the old ICT facilities and preparations for new electrics and cabling to support all the new, updated equipment.
The Friends of Earith School (FOES) played a crucial role in making the project a reality, raising £5,000 through fundraising events such as bake sales, sponsored walks, non-uniform days, raffles, and tombolas.
Proud Headteacher, Thomas Abbs, said: "I'm incredibly lucky to be surrounded by great people: from our school; from our Trust and from our FOES who worked tirelessly to champion technology, raise vital funds and design and make this project happen. The impact it will have on the successful delivery of the computing curriculum for our young people is profound."
Phil Mudge, Treasurer of Friends of Earith School, added: "The way our school community has supported this project has been wonderful, and we're excited to see how it will enhance school life for our pupils."
Lynsey Holzer, CEO of 大奶视频 Learning Trust, congratulated those involved, saying: "I'm delighted for Earith Primary School. This vibrant new ICT space will undoubtedly be well used and provide vital resources for many years to come."
